For the last few years, nearly everyone has agreed that the Los Angeles Lakers belong to LeBron James.

The four-time champion is one of the best to ever play the game so any team he becomes a part of will naturally be his.

But as James gets older and his team attempts another playoff run, some people are debating who is facing more pressure: him or Anthony Davis.

NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins thinks the answer is clear: Davis has a lot more pressure to carry the team in the upcoming playoffs and beyond.

Speaking on First Take, Perkins said, “I believe that [Davis] is still auditioning for the Los Angeles Lakers to see if [he can] put the franchise in his hands.”

Perkins noted that James is now 38 years old and has done just about everything an NBA player can during his 20 years in the league.

Meanwhile, all eyes are on Davis to see if he can become the team’s leader in the future.

Although James is still playing phenomenally well for his age, there is no doubt that he is nearing the end of his career.

When that time comes, the team will belong to Davis if he is willing and able to step up and take control.

Therefore, the upcoming postseason will be a true testament to Davis, for better or for worse.

If the Lakers do well, people will say that the upcoming Davis era could be a great one.

But if they fall apart, people will question if he is capable of running this storied franchise.

The pressure will be heavy.

Can Davis’ enormous shoulders carry it all?
