Going on a cute date with your partner is a dream many lovebirds aspire to achieve! However, for American tennis star Taylor Fritz, there are other priorities at play. In a surprising twist, Fritz has turned down the idea of a long drive with his long-time girlfriend, Morgan Riddle. But why is Fritz not okay with going on a drive with his girlfriend?

Taylor Fritz is currently on his grass-court campaign. He has displayed remarkable performance at the Queen’s Club championship so far and has won his first two matches in straight sets. As he gears up for his quarterfinal match on Friday, what caught the attention of the tennis community was his weird admission about going on a long drive with his girlfriend, or rather not going. 

In a car chat with the Queen’s Club media team, the American star player admitted the driving challenges on a long drive with his girlfriend. When asked who would be his ideal companion to go on a tour with, he said, “I was thinking about saying my girlfriend, but like, then she’s…she’s probably not gonna drive if it’s my girlfriend. Then I have to do all the driving, probably.” Meanwhile, Fritz and Riddle’s relationship is not new to the tennis community.

The American star has been dating his influencer girlfriend since 2020 after meeting on a celebrity dating app. They were also spotted taking a car ride together in 2023 when they went for a long drive together. The pair took a small weekend getaway to Palm Springs, California, and Riddle couldn’t get enough of it and shared a glimpse of their musical collection while sharing moments with her fans on her Instagram account. Meanwhile, Taylor Fritz’s recent revelation about Novak Djokovic is equally captivating for the fans.

Novak Djokovic has been out of the tennis court since his French Open campaign. Following a meniscus tear in the right knee, he was forced to withdraw midway from the tournament and has been off of the game since then. Meanwhile, Taylor Fritz revealed a recent interaction he had with Nole.

Taylor revealed that following his injury, Djokovic called him to enquire about a few aspects. In 2021, Fritz also tore his knee meniscus at Roland Garros but still managed to compete at Wimbledon. He won two matches before losing in the third round. With Djokovic in a similar situation, he could have probably thought Fritz to be the best to answer his questions. 

“It’s possible for Novak to play. It’s the exact same thing that I had and I played. Obviously, I wasn’t contending to win a title, I was just showing up to hopefully win a couple of rounds – but it is possible.”

It will be interesting to see if Nole can make a comeback soon. Besides, it will be equally intriguing to see if the World No. 12 Fritz can continue his sensational gameplay at the Queen’s Club and add another title to his name.
