When we tell you that FSU got whopped back on September 3rd, it would be an understatement. While Seminoles QB DJ Uiagalelei tried his best to take his team for the win, Boston College was just too good. The main factor behind that victory would be Boston’s small-town hero Thomas Castellanos. The kid dominated with 2 TDs and a 106-yard run. The FSU defense had nothing on him and he just couldn’t be locked down. He had that dynamic power and despite not being the tallest in the field; he managed to slip past almost everyone. So, it wasn’t a surprise when ESPN decided to compare the kid to one of the great from the Arizona Cardinals.

Yes folks, back on September 3rd, ESPN posted on Instagram comparing Castellanos to Murray. “It’s so hard not to think Kyler Murry when I see Castellanos run around,” said the host. Like we said, Castellanos had that charm like Kyler Murray. He managed to take advantage of his arm strength and his speed to break through the defenders with ease. Castellanos took to Instagram on September 4th to share the comparison ESPN had made on his stories. The kid has all the right to take pride in what he managed to achieve last day. FSU was marked as the No.10 team in the ACC and to stun them and take your team to a 28-13 win is a big deal. The entire game also felt like a repeat telecast of the 2023 season game between FSU and the Eagles. Back then Castellanos also almost managed to upset FSU and grab a win.

The 3rd quarter is when FSU finally picked up the pace and managed to close the game with 31-29 on the scoreboard. This year, though, the kid was coached by former NFL coach Bill O’Brien. Bill managed to find the perfect balance for Castellanos and that ultimately led them to get a win over a No.10 team. This victory sets the expectations quite right for the Eagles’ next few matches, so let’s take a look at how well they will probably do against Duquesne.

Bill O’Brien and Thomas Castellanos era begins at Boston College

The underdogs are here to take the crown. With O’Brien leading the kids, the debut made us understand that he has managed to crack the code. With the defense being stronger than ever, this year’s run should be relatively easy for the Eagles. The win over FSU marks the first-ever season opener victory for the Eagles since 1976. The game against Duquesne should be relatively easy based on what we saw last day. Bill has the defense trained on locking down the QB and the rushes and this would give Castellanos enough room to run the ball.

However, the major concern will come after the Dukes game when the Eagles will have to go against another top-10 team; the Tigers. Missouri Football has already managed to sell out the entire stadium before they hit the turf against the Eagles. With the opener a few days back, the Tigers have already taken the lead over a team like Michigan on the AP preseason polls. The 51-0 win over Murray State showed us that Missouri had quite the formidable offense, with around 300 passing yards and 189 rushing yards. Would the Eagles manage to storm through this obstacle as well? Well, we will know when they hit the turf soon.
