Last year, when Nikola Jokic won the MVP award, it was a major talking point in the NBA community. It even led to a diss war between Shaquille O’Neal and Shannon Sharpe. But this time, the conversation is not about tangible achievements, but intangible assets that players bring to the franchise. So, normally one would rank last year’s MVP on that list, but former star and current analyst picks a young Spurs star.

I did some research on it,” claimed Chandler Parsons before he gave his two cents on the untradable player in the league. “Is he (Wembanyama) the only untouchable, No. I think he is the most untouchable player. Like Luka, SGA, even Giannis, and Jokic. If you put a package together with crazy first-round picks and some players, yeah, I think everyone is touchable to a certain point. He (Wemby) is the most untouchable.”

Even his co-analyst wasn’t on board with the Victor Wembanyama untradable take. Lou Willimas said that there is no package for any of the elite players like Nikola Jokic, and even questioned Parsons if there is a Curry or Tatum trade package available. The former journeyman Parsons answered and stated “I definitely think there is a Jayson Tatum package.

His reasoning for it was very simple, explaining that Boston already has Jaylen Brown. So if the Celtics decide to accept a package for Tatum, it won’t be the end of the world. Especially after the off-season when the Finals MVP was reportedly snubbed by the national team. And to round up the conversation Parsons said, “I agree with Kuzma, he (Wemby) is the most untouchable. Can you agree?” Willams hesitantly said, “I hope so. ”

Yes, the trade and the untouchable debate started because of Kyle Kuzma’s statement earlier this month. The Wizards star was tired of all the rumors of trade around him and said, “But it really doesn’t matter at the end of the day. One, it’s a business. Two, everybody in the NBA is tradable, except for (Victor Wembanyama). ” Even though Kuzma and Parsons rate the Frenchman so highly, Shaquille O’Neal highlighted a weakness in last year’s Rookie of the Year winner.

Shaquille O’Neal critiques Victor Wembanyama

When asked if Wembanyama domination would continue, Shaq was not convinced yet. “Wemby is a great player, but I don’t really think you can be dominant when you shoot jumpers a lot.” The ex-center was on the Pat McAfee Show and explained why Wemby’s impressive stat line of 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 3.6 blocks, and 1.2 steals per game is not dominating.

I think if he was an inside player at 7’5″, the answer is yes, but when you shoot jumpers, you’re always going to go up and down. Coach will tell you that.” Shaquille O’Neal knows a thing or two about being the most dominant player in the league. One can ask the former players around the time or watch highlights of broken backboards.

Despite being a rookie, the Spurs star became the seventh player in NBA history to win the ROTY award unanimously. Not to forget his contribution on the defensive end where he finished second in the Defensive Player of the Year (DPOY) race and led the NBA in blocks. So., even though Wemby might not be the Most Dominant player, another analyst like Parsons definitely views him as the Most Untouchable.
